Simi Valley's Municipal Water Supply Architecture
Understanding whether your children receive optimal systemic fluoride begins with understanding where Simi Valley's drinking water originates. The City of Simi Valley is served primarily by Golden State Water Company and Ventura County Waterworks District No. 8.
Nearly all of Simi Valley's municipal supply is wholesale water imported from the Calleguas Municipal Water District, which in turn receives State Water Project water from Northern California treated by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC) at the Joseph Jensen Filtration Plant in Granada Hills.
Because this water originates from Sierra Nevada snowmelt and California aqueduct surface reservoirs, its natural mineral content varies seasonally before entering state-of-the-art municipal filtration and disinfection facilities.
